We have a dream for the area of land that has lain behind a corrugated iron fence
for many years at the back of what used to be the St. Nicholas Hospital Nurses Home.
The area has been untended for decades and is a haven for both wild-
It would be a great idea to develop – sympathetically, and with as little disturbance to the area as possible – a Nature Reserve with Disabled access. That would undoubtedly involve a winding boardwalk and perhaps a bird hide accessible by the visually impaired.
There are many issues and hurdles ahead of us in this proposed venture, not the least of which is security. We have prepared the outline proposal which the council have approved in principle.
